Every year countless contact lenses and pieces of blister packaging end up in landfill sites across the UK.The ACUVUE® Contact Lens Recycle Programme allows us to recycle your contact lenses and blister packaging, preventing them from ending up in landfill. Not only are you helping the environment, but the waste you recycle with us also helps to fund schools or charitable organisations.

The Acuvue Contact Lens Recycling Programme allows us to recycle your contact lenses and blister packaging, preventing them from ending up in landfill.
Not only are you helping the environment, but the waste you recycle with us also helps to fund schools or charitable organisations.
So far more than 706,000 contact lenses, blister packs and foil covers have been diverted from landfill and incineration. This number is rapidly increasing.
We are one of nearly 3000 participating locations where you can recycle your contact lenses / blister packs and foil covers. Once collected, the aggregated contact lenses, blister packaging and outer foils are sorted, shredded and washed. The material is then densified into hard granulated plastic granules. The granules are then extruded so they can be incorporated into the production of different plastics such as benches.
